Properties where guests directly coordinate with the homeowner!
Some of our vacation homeowners enjoy the opportunity to work
directly with potential guests to personally arrange the
bookings for their rental properties. With Owner Direct,
A Better View Vacation Rental helps homeowners and renters
connect to each other directly. Through Owner Direct, you
contact the owner via phone or email to obtain information about
the property. Should you wish to book the property, the
owner will provide you the full array of services to secure the
booking, provide information, and arrange property oversight and
guest's care during your stay.
For homeowners that do not live near their vacation home, they
will have a cleaner and/or property caretaker that will oversee
issues that, while unlikely, could arise during your stay.
With Owner Direct, A Better View Vacation Rental provides
advertising and rental assistance to the homeowner, but ALL
guest's services are provided by the homeowner.
Making the match: Be sure to accurately describe
your group size, needs and preferences, so that together with
the homeowner you can be sure their property is the right one
for you.
Securing the deal: Should you book an Owner
Direct property, be sure that the owner sends you a contract
within a few days. Unless you have a fully signed
contract, you may not have a fully secure vacation arranged.
Check to see that shortly after you book a property, that
the date becomes marked as booked on our
calendar.
Payment: Owners will generally have you send in a small down payment along with the signed lease, with the
remaining funds due 3 months prior to arrival (time permitting).
If less than three months prior, owners will likely have you pay
in full.
Property Directions and Instructions: Note that
maps are on our website on the webpage for your selected
property. Some homes also make rental instructions
available on our site. However, if rental instructions are
not available, do make sure the homeowner has provided you with
all appropriate information, including the numbers of all
contact people you could possibly need to reach during your
stay. Remember that the homeowner, not A Better View
Vacation Rental, is responsible for ALL guest's services.
Be sure that you are fully informed so that you will know who to
contact in the unlikely event that you need assistance during
your stay.
Security Deposits: Some homeowners may require a
security deposit. These will be held by the owner, and
should be returned to you in a timely manner, allowing that you
leave the property in good order.
